Nearly 135 days after Russell Martin's initial media briefing as the club's head coach, his replacement Danny Rohl met with reporters at Ibrox for the first time.

The magnitude of the challenge facing him is well known, considering Martin's turbulent and unsuccessful 123-day tenure.

The ex- Sheffield Wednesday manager was joined by club chairman Andrew Cavenagh, along with the frequently questioned pair of sporting director Kevin Thelwell and chief executive Patrick Stewart.

However, what exactly did we learn from the young coach's first public appearance as the club's manager?

The Manager's Primary Focus - Victory is Everything

A single message came through loud and clear from Rohl's initial presentation before the Scottish media - he understands the necessity to secure victories, and achieve this rapidly.

The previous manager Russell Martin lasted only 17 matches and four months in charge, so the question arose about what timeframe the new man thinks is realistic to turn around the struggling squad.

While skillfully avoiding a specific response that might create later expectations, the coach's message was very evident.

"With hope as soon as possible," he stated. "That is essential.
"In this business you have not much opportunity. You can discuss future plans but we know it concerns immediate results and that period involves securing victories. That is my requirement.
"One thing remains obvious - I need all players to comprehend how we want to play. I return to my primary message: victory comes first, it's attractive and unity. By following this order, I'm convinced that I'll stay very long at the club."

Expectations are Standard

Martin required a police escort to leave the stadium after his last match as manager.

We've witnessed how toxic environments can become at sports teams when performances decline. Protests have nearly become a regular aspect of the matchday atmosphere on both sides of Glasgow these days.

As Rangers' youngest ever head coach, the question was posed about which attributes Rohl believes he has that would enable him to cope, never mind thrive, in among the highest-pressure positions in UK soccer?

"In my opinion expectations in football are standard," he stated. "You must learn that rapidly.
"I think some people might mention my youth but I'm a decade and a half on this path. I had an excellent opportunity to work with the German club and serve as just the assistant manager, but I experienced what it means to be a head coach and the pressure you face.
"When you start getting results and then some critics will say you need to produce entertaining soccer. That's the next phase but precisely my intention. I relish that challenge and I'm excited about what's ahead."

Thelwell Explains Striker Acquisition & Appointing His Son

There were plenty of inquiries from journalists for Thelwell.

Much discussion has concerned the appointment of Robbie Thelwell as recruitment chief, with fans skeptical about his qualifications for the position.

However, he defended and explained the decision to bring Thelwell Jnr to Ibrox.

"It remains awkward to listen and optically I think everyone understood when we took this step to appoint him that he'd be seen negatively," Thelwell stated.
"The reality of circumstances is that we aim to attract the very best talent to this club.
"My perspective on his professional path and background is he required no family help in soccer.
"He's worked at Villa as a senior scout, he then joined Norwich City as head of scouting and then got promoted to player pathways manager.
"Before we recruited him, multiple Premier League clubs sought to acquire him. What we did right at the beginning of the process was consult with Patrick, Andrew and deputy chairman Paraag Marathe about this situation.
"I remained extremely open and I believe he likely experienced a more rigorous process than anybody else who's employed by this football club.
"I'm certain is that he'll labor constantly to achieve success for this football club and I'm looking forward to him demonstrating that he'll become a valuable employee for Rangers."

Thelwell also defended the acquisition of forward Chermiti, who arrived at Rangers for a reported first payment of £8m, having failed to score in 24 games for his previous club.

It was Thelwell who transferred the Portuguese young international to Liverpool from Sporting Lisbon - once more for large funds in a fifteen million pound transfer.

He was asked if he stands by his multi-million pound signing, who hasn't yet register in seven matches for Rangers.

"Yes, very much so," Thelwell responded. "I believe the striker is a player who's possesses huge potential.
"I've never doubted him whatsoever. Similarly, I believe the manager will assist in maximize the potential out of Youssef.
"These are initial stages for him, he's a young talent and of course with young talents they occasionally require patience.
"However, I'm convinced throughout of his career at the club he'll demonstrate that he is very, very good player."

The CEO Acknowledges Fan Frustration and Anger

Stewart was also facing firing line, given the vitriol that has been aimed his way by some club fans.

There was even a banner in the stadium during the recent tie with United suggesting Stewart - and Thelwell - to depart before being removed for them.

Like his football director, the CEO did not avoid the issue.

"I totally appreciate the frustration and hurt that fans are experiencing because performances recently haven't met good enough and nobody's happy with them," he stated.
"The pain and disappointment fans experience is matched inside the leadership.
"Recognize that there has to be an outlet for those frustrations and as chief executive, I'm responsible.
"I'm a focal point for such issues and my responsibility as a
